Theives of Heaven

Thieves of Heaven
«My protectors and my favorites in Heaven are those that stole it, like the Holy Innocents and the Good Thief». «The great saints earned it by their works: I want to imitate the thieves, I want to have it by guile, but the guile of love that will open its door, to me and poor sinners. The Holy Spirit seems to encourage me when he says in Proverbs: “O little one! Come, learn prudence from me”»8.

And she concluded: «Here is what we gain by being little. For the little obstacles do not exist, they slip by everywhere. The great souls can pass over the events, get round difficulties, succeed, through reasoning or virtue, to put themselves above everything, but we who are so little, must guard against attempting a similar enterprise. We pass underneath! To pass underneath events means not giving them too much importance nor reasoning about them»11.

St. Therese, Little Flower

It Works.

For all you "dedicated Singles" out there, this one's for you. (And YES it works too, I have proof...just ask some of the gals who've tried it, they're not "wondering" anymore-- lets just put it that way!)

A Prayer of Personal Consecration
(Day One) Loving Father, I surrender to you today all of my heart, body, mind, and spirit. Come into my heart in a deeper way. I say "Yes" to you today and always. I come to you as your child and renew and ratify the vows of my baptism. I come before you to renounce Satan and all of his lies and deception, and I give myself entirely to you. I vow to carry my cross after you all of the days of my life and to seek you more fervently than ever before.
In the presence of all of the heavenly saints and angels, I choose You this day for my Savior. I give You my goods, gifts and works both interior and exterior, and even the value of all my actions - past, present and future...and especially (state any particular area or issue). I open all of the secret areas of my life and ask you to shine your healing light on even the darkest areas of my soul. Come into my heart Jesus - You are the Lord of my whole life. I believe in You and trust in You. I give you all of my hopes and dreams, my desires and my plans for my life and ask you to reveal how my simple life fits into your eternal plans for the sanctity of the world. I don't want to hold anything back today.
Holy Spirit, reveal any areas in my life that need changing. Clarify your truths and lead me on the path of a deeper conversion. I confess these sins and ask you to show me the way to conform to your will. I leave the scars and hurts of my past at the foot of your cross and ask for healing. Lord, I give you all of my deepest pains, fears and suffering and ask you to make me whole again.
I surrender everything to you - my health, my family, my friends, my dating relationships, my career, my car, my home, my skills, my talents, my time management, my relationships, my success and failures! I release these to you today to do as you will. I surrender the understanding of how things ought to be - all of my choices and will. I surrender the promises I have kept and those I have failed to keep. I surrender to you all of those that I have been unable to forgive and all of those whom I have hurt. I forgive myself, too, Lord. I surrender my emotions, my fears, my insecurities, my self image. Lord, I surrender my entire life to You - I belong to You.
Teach me more about your plans for my sexuality and show me the path to purity and chastity. Give me strength to respect my body and the bodies of those I meet. Purify my intentions Lord and reveal - bit by bit - Your wisdom regarding our physical desires for intimacy. Heal me from my past sins of the body and make me whole. If it be your will for me to marry or to enter religious life- renew my fervor each day to commit now to my future vows. Teach me to respect and cherish my future spouse or community. I pray now for them and ask that you continue to guide us towards You, Lord.
But most of all, help me to be holy today. Be with me and help me to accept Your love for me and reflect it outward to all I meet. I Love you, Lord, and give you my heart. Amen.

The Novena Prayer for Our Vocation (Days 1-9)
Heavenly Father, we consecrate our lives to you today. We give you all of the talents and blessings that you have bestowed upon us. We sincerely desire to do your will and seek your will be done - not ours. We earnestly ask for peace and direction at this time in our lives, and in the lives of the 28 women who have united together to worship and praise you:

We seek guidance for our vocation in life and if it be your will for us to remain single, we pray that you put that desire in our hearts and that we accept this peacefully and begin our life anew in this direction. However, if it be your will for us to share our life united with another in the sacrament of marriage or with a community as a professed religious, we pray also to recognize this as our calling. We trust that you are preparing our future spouse or community, helping them to grow in faith and holiness so that we will be equally yoked.
In the book of James, and throughout the Bible, you tell us to come before you in prayer and ask for guidance, and then most importantly to expect an answer and direction. With this in mind, we come before you as little children and simply and humbly place our questions and hearts at the foot of your cross and await your response. Also, in childlike faith, we ask that if it be your will and for the good of our soul, that we receive this peace and direction by the end of this series of Novenas. We also ask that if matrimony is our calling, that you bring our partner into our lives this year as well, so that we can begin building and/or deepening our relationship with this person. If religious life or consecrated celibacy is our calling, help us to see the path so that we can begin that journey. Please open my eyes and ears to more clearly recognize the person, community or path in Your will for me. And today, help me to sense and take any steps I should be taking to live out my current vocation of love.
Heavenly Father, Sweet Jesus, O bright and powerful Holy Spirit, have mercy on us, your humble and loving servants, and grant us these petitions, if it be in accordance with your perfect plan for our lives. Amen!

Good One...

Mon mate accouterments--

Meekness Comes from Strength

Meekness is not weakness, but rather controlled strength. It is the opposite of pride. It's submission to God, through a listening ear to what He has to say, and is unselfishness to others. It is not occupied with self at all. Meekness is that meek and quiet spirit, which is greatly valued by God.

Because meekness is the selfless aspect of love, it can only be manifested from a strength of character. Those with a weak character are always occupied with self and with what others think or say to them. When you know who you are in God, what people say to you or think of you, will not move you; you are not self-centered. http://my.homewithgod.com/mkcathy/studies/fruit_meek.html

Mercy

Teach me to feel another's woe, To hide the fault I see: That mercy I to others show, That mercy show to me.
Alexander Pope

Mercy to him that shows it, is the rule.
William Cowper

To criticize is to grow in pride.

The God of Miracles, Michael Brown's:

Not dwelling on the negative means searching to understand and making sure that we view every situation from the other person’s perspective (before responding). It means tapping into the wondrous power of forgiveness, which actually changes the spiritual dynamic around you.
Watch your thoughts, they become your words, watch your words, they become your actions, watch your actions, they become your habits, watch your habits they become your character.

From St. Faustina, one of my very favorite saints--

Words of Jesus to Saint Faustina Kowalska, as recorded in her Diary,
"Divine Mercy In My Soul:”
Paragraph 1190
“From all My wounds, like from streams,
mercy flows for souls, but the wound in My
Heart is the fountain of unfathomable
mercy. From this fountain spring all graces
for souls. The flames of compassion burn
Me. I desire greatly to pour them out upon
souls. Speak to the whole world about
My mercy.”

About Moi

Catholicism is my identity. I love theology & passionately discussing the faith, especially the Theology of the Body. I hope to have a family, & currently work as Faith Formation Coordinator in an parish that is faithful to the Church and the Holy Father, which is a great blessing. I can be a cut-up on occasion, they say that's the plegmatic dry humor, me guesses... I love the outdoors especially hiking and kayaking. I am also very interested in people and their personalities in general. It's important to be able to understand others, how God created them and what motivates them, and how they interact. As for places, ,-- I have been in the South for about 6 years now. I love it warm, hot, and even humid. I play un petit guitar & love to cook-- love it. Lakes, long drives, walks at dusk, etc. all good stuff. Would love to travel again - but have not made the time. Can't help being a romantic, possibly quixotic at times L [ie.Caught up in the romance of noble deeds and the pursuit of unreachable goals; idealistic without regard to practicality.]... so I do love poetry and big, wierd, words too sometimes... ;) What you say is important for sure, but how you say it can make all the difference... Talking over coffee is just wonderful. It's a time just to "be", as an old dear friend once put it. I wonder sometimes just what our Lord has in store for me. I am definately not sure myself.
